I get the devs are trying for realism, but some things need to end up being 'gamey'. WE can't apply everything from real life to a game, else it will end up being a chore. I vote for guns being more effective across the board, however making them more noisy and actually making them effective, but with lower chance to find ammo. One could argue about "blah blah knockback of weapon", but it was a single-shot airsoft rifle and I still hit the target. How do you miss a SHOTGUN SHOT FROM POINT BLANK, when zombie is green? I have zero shooting experience, I come from a country where no one owns guns, but once I was at the shooting range at my relatives place in countryside, shooting airsoft guns at a target, and guess what, I still hit it. You see, a good trade off would be to have guns BE reliable and kill zombies easily, but tradeoff would be noise = attracting more attention and more sparse ammunition.Īt current stage, aiming with guns is just bad, has no advantages, when it clearly should work as a 'tradeoff' of advantages and disadvantages. That's actually a poor balancing on game's part, because guns SHOULD BE way more effective than they currently are. If something is not as effective as the other thing, then what is the point of that something existing? What's the point of firearms in the game, if they serve no benefits and have zero advantages over the melee weapons? I will stop you there then at the first sentence.
